Kimberly D. Coward is a partner of Coward & Coward, P.A., a law firm in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She practices law with her sister, Alfreda D. Coward, primarily representing clients in the areas of criminal law, family law, and governmental law.
Prior to starting her own practice, she served as a guidance counselor at Wesley Chapel High School and Land O’ Lakes High School in Pasco County, FL.
Ms. Coward is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she received her Juris Doctorate degree in 2002, her Masters of Education and Education Specialist degrees in 1998, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1996.
Ms. Coward was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2002. She is also admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals.
A veteran, Ms. Coward served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, Judge Advocate General’s Office (JAG).
In addition, she serves as the co-founder and secretary-treasurer of One Voice Children’s Law Center. One Voice Children’s Law Center is a non-profit organization that represents children with pending matters in dependency, delinquency, and/or educational systems.
Ms. Coward is very active in her local community where she serves as the current Chaplain of the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and former treasurer of the T.J. Reddick Bar Association.
Amongst others, she has served three terms as a member of The Florida Bar’s Education Committee, served as a member of the Bar’s Military Affairs Committee, and is a Director in the American Bar Association’s Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division.
